Our water, flood and storm damage services in Austin

A supply line that burst behind the washer, creek water under the back door or rain through a storm-torn roof: pick what you found in your Austin home.

Our Process

How we handle water damage restoration in Austin

1We trace the water through the house

Water in an Austin home may come from a supply line, a water heater, a storm or a creek out of its banks. Austin is in the heart of Flash Flood Alley, says the city's Watershed Protection Department. Once inside, water can run under flooring and wick up into drywall, so we follow it to the edge of the wet area.

2We take the water out and dry the structure

Standing water comes up first, and that part is water extraction. Then the structure dries, and we may remove wet carpet pad or the bottom of a wall so the framing behind it can dry.

3We put the rooms back together

Once the structure is dry, we handle the rebuild of whatever had to come out. New flooring laid over a damp subfloor can trap that moisture and buckle, so the rebuild waits for dry readings.

Why Us

Why Austin homeowners hire us for water damage restoration

We send IICRC certified technicians

Before any work starts, our IICRC certified technicians go through the damage with you, room by room. In an older Hyde Park or Crestview house on pier and beam, that includes the crawl space.

We document the damage for your insurance

We document the loss with photos, moisture readings and an itemized scope, and we share that record when we talk with your insurance company. It shows what got wet, how far the water reached and what has to come out.

We explain the work in English or Spanish

We speak English and Spanish, so everyone in the house can follow what we find and what comes next. When the paperwork arrives, we explain ACV, RCV and depreciation in plain English too.

We pack out your furniture, rugs and boxes

Furniture, boxes and rugs in the wet rooms come out with us. We clean them, keep them in storage during the work and return them once the rooms are ready.

FAQs

Your questions about water damage in Austin

Plain answers about the work, the estimate and your insurance.

How does the insurance side work for water damage in Austin?

We talk with your insurance company and share our photos, moisture readings and scope with them. If your policy raises questions, we answer them in English or Spanish. Your insurance company decides what your policy covers.

Our Austin street flooded and water got into the house. Do you handle that?

Yes. Water that comes in from a creek or a flooded street calls for flood cleanup, which is part of our work. Onion, Bull and Shoal creeks have each left their banks. The City of Austin says more than 7,000 buildings and 400 roads are prone to flooding in a 100-year flood.

Rain came through the ceiling after a storm damaged the roof of our Austin home. Can you help?

Yes. We can tarp the opening to keep more rain out, and storm damage restoration covers the wet ceiling, walls and floors under it. We are not roofers, so the roof itself goes to a roofing company.

How can I tell if water got inside the walls of my Austin home?

Paint that bubbles, baseboard that swells or pulls away and drywall that feels soft near the floor can all be signs. Water can also sit inside a wall with no sign at all, so a wall that looks dry may not be.

How long does water damage restoration take in an Austin home?

It depends on how much got wet and how long the water sat before anyone found it. A single wet room can dry sooner than a whole floor, and drying ends when the materials test dry, not on a date we pick.

Our Austin house sits on pier and beam. Can water get into the crawl space?

Yes. Water from a supply line or a flooded yard can run under the floor and soak the framing and the crawl space below it. In older Hyde Park and Crestview houses on pier and beam, we take moisture readings in the crawl space as well as the rooms above. The floor goes back down only after the framing reads dry.

What should I do first after a pipe bursts in my Austin home?

Shut off the water at the main valve, and turn off power to any wet room if you can do it safely. Take photos of the water and the damage before you move anything, for your insurance company. Then call us, and we trace the water with moisture readings to find how far it went.
