How we handle smoke and soot cleanup
1Call us, and leave the soot alone
Soot keeps working after the fire is out: left where it landed, it can tarnish metal and turn plastic yellow, and scrubbing can push it deeper into paint. So call us before you clean, and we're on site in under an hour. Go back in only when the fire department tells you the building is safe.
2We follow the smoke room by room
Smoke rides the air through a building, so we look in closets, cabinets and the rooms farthest from the fire. What we find becomes your free estimate: an itemized scope, with photos of each room.
3Your belongings leave the sooty rooms
Sofas, clothes and dishes catch soot the way walls do. We pack those things out, clean each one and keep it in storage until the rooms are done.
4We clean the structure, then your things come back
Soot cleanup and structure cleaning cover ceilings, walls, floors, trim and the insides of cabinets and closets. Material too damaged to clean goes on the scope for removal. Your belongings come back when the rooms are finished.

“We suffered a small fire in our house alittle over a week ago, Watchtower came to the house and talked to us about repair. The person that came out Michael Sullivan ( Sully) was not pressuring us and explained every step. What really sold me was that Sully kept in contact with us and didn't pressure us into signing an agreement. Josh was more than helpful and also made the ordeal bearable. Sully is truly an asset to the company. Since this a work in progress there will be more to follow at a later time”

Why owners call us for smoke and soot cleanup
We answer the phone 24/7
Someone answers our phone 24/7, so you can call the night of the fire or the week after. The estimate is free, with no obligation.
IICRC certified technicians check each surface
Smoke cools as it spreads and drops soot on colder surfaces such as outside walls, windows and the backs of closets. Our IICRC certified technicians check each surface up close, and the scope says which ones come clean.
We handle the rebuild too
Soot cleanup is seldom the whole job. Much of the smoke smell sits in the soot and some materials have to come out, so smoke odor removal, fire debris removal and the rebuild go on one scope, and we handle all of it.
We work with all insurance companies
Bring us the questions your policy raises, in English or Spanish. We work with all insurance companies and explain ACV, RCV and depreciation in plain English. Coverage stays your insurance company's decision.

Smoke and soot cleanup across two Texas metros
Around the state capital, we clean up smoke and soot for homes and businesses across Travis, Williamson and Hays counties: Round Rock, Georgetown, Cedar Park, Pflugerville, Leander, Hutto, Kyle, Buda and San Marcos. The capital maps wildland-urban interface zones, where houses sit beside brush. There, soot can arrive from a fire that never touched the house.
Near the Gulf Coast, we clean up smoke and soot across Harris County and in Katy, The Woodlands and Galveston.

Questions about soot removal and smoke cleanup
Plain answers about the work, the estimate and your insurance.
Can I wipe the soot off the walls myself?
We would wait. Soot is the dark residue of whatever did not finish burning, and it is fine enough to work into paint and drywall. A wet rag can turn a dry film into a smear that stains. If you have started on one wall, stop there.
The fire was in the kitchen. Why is there soot in the bedrooms?
Smoke does not stay where the fire was. It rises, spreads along the ceiling and follows moving air through doorways, stairwells and air ducts. It settles where the air slows, so closets and corners collect it. The black strings that look like cobwebs in a ceiling corner are chains of soot.
There is ash on our window sills after a brush fire nearby. Is that a cleanup job?
It can be. Smoke from burning grass and Ashe juniper, the tree locals call cedar, carries fine ash and soot, and it comes in around windows, doors and vents. If a finger across the sill comes up gray, the smoke got inside, and our estimate is free.
Will insurance pay to clean rooms that did not burn?
It may. Insurers often treat smoke damage as part of the fire loss, wherever the smoke went. We talk with your insurance company about those rooms and share our photos of them. Your insurance company decides what your policy covers.
Do I have to decide anything when you come out to look?
No. The estimate is free, whatever you decide. The itemized scope you get lists the rooms and the work, and you can take it to your adjuster, think it over, or stop there.
