How we handle water damage restoration in Houston
1We find where the water went
Houston drains through bayous such as Buffalo Bayou and Brays Bayou, and the Flood Control District says a major flood hits somewhere in the county about every two years. Inside, water spreads under flooring and wicks up drywall, so we follow it with moisture readings to the dry edge.
2We remove the water and dry the structure
We extract the standing water first. Air movers and dehumidifiers dry the structure, and we may pull wet carpet pad or cut out the lower drywall so the studs behind it dry. The moisture readings tell us when to stop.
3We rebuild what came out
Once the readings confirm the structure is dry, the rebuild starts. Close to half of Houston homes were built before 1980, and pipes that old can wear thin, so we point out anything we notice.

Why Houston homeowners hire us for water damage restoration
We send IICRC certified technicians
Our IICRC certified technicians work in Houston homes and businesses, from single houses to apartment buildings. They photograph each wet area and take moisture readings first, so nothing is moved before it is on record.
We document the damage for your insurance
About 44 percent of Houston homes are in buildings of five or more units, so one leak can reach several units and several policies. Photos, moisture readings and an itemized scope go into one record, which we share when we talk with each insurance company.
We explain the work in English or Spanish
Owners, tenants and family members can follow the same scope in either language. ACV, RCV and depreciation get explained in plain terms too.
We pack out your furniture and boxes
Furniture and boxes from the wet rooms leave with us, get cleaned and wait in storage during the job. At the end, everything comes back to the house.

Your questions about water damage in Houston
Plain answers about the work, the estimate and your insurance.
A leak from the apartment above came through my ceiling in Houston. Whose insurance pays?
It can turn on where the leak began and on whose policy covers what. We record the wet areas on your side of the ceiling and can help with your insurance questions. Each insurance company decides what its policy covers.
Is bayou flooding in Houston handled differently from a burst pipe?
Often it is. Many policies treat rising water from a bayou or a street as a flood, and we handle flood cleanup. The Harris County Flood Control District says Hurricane Harvey dropped 1 trillion gallons of water on the county over four days.
How do I know if water got inside my walls?
Look for paint that bubbles, baseboards that swell and drywall that feels soft near the floor. Walls can stay wet and still look normal, so we test them with moisture readings before calling them dry.
How many days does drying take in a Houston home?
It depends on how much got wet and how long the water sat before anyone found it. We keep drying until the materials read dry, so one wet room often finishes well before a whole floor.
My pipes froze in Houston and the pressure dropped. What should I check?
In the 2021 freeze, water pressure dropped across Houston and the City issued a boil water notice. When the pressure comes back, check under sinks, behind the washer and in the attic for drips from lines that split while frozen. If you find water, we can dry what got wet.
Should I wait for my insurance adjuster before drying out my Houston home?
Usually not. Take photos of the water and the damage, then call your insurance company to report it. Wet drywall and flooring keep soaking up water while they wait, so we record the damage with photos and moisture readings before anything comes out. We work with your adjuster and share that record.
We live near Brays Bayou in Houston. How often does it flood?
The Harris County Flood Control District says severe flooding has hit the Brays Bayou watershed on average at least once every decade. Thousands of structures sit in its mapped 100-year floodplain, and Meyerland flooded from Brays Bayou in 2015. When bayou water gets in, we handle the flood cleanup, from water extraction to drying and the rebuild.
